Montgomery County Coin Club

About MCCC

Established in 1959, the Montgomery County Coin Club is dedicated to fostering interest in numismatics at all levels, from novice to expert, but especially among young people. Membership is open to anyone interested in numismatics. The club publishes a monthly bulletin, designed to serve members in the Washington DC area but containing many articles of general numismatic interest. The MCCC bulletin is also a historical record of club events.

MCCC monthly meetings feature guest speakers, videos, and activities related to various numismatic topics, including coins, tokens, paper money, and medals. Visitors are always welcome. Club members exhibit items from their collections and share advice about coin and paper money collecting with one another. Each MCCC meeting also features a live auction of more than 30 lots, most of them relatively inexpensive. Members and visitors may bid. Members can submit items for aucting using the form found in our document library.

The club maintains an extensive library on coins and collecting, available for borrowing by club members. The library includes volumes on United States, Canada, England, world, and ancient coins. Visit our online catalog for a complete listing of resrouces available.

Club members have spoken before school groups on coin collecting. In recent years, the club has sponsored exhibits on coin collecting at several Montgomery County Public Libraries, including the Noyes Children’s Library in Kensington, the Davis Library in Bethesda, and the Silver Spring Library.
